The Artisphere Juried HS Art Show took center stage at the Artisphere International Arts Festival earlier this month in downtown Greenville.  Thousands of festival goers were treated to the accomplished work of students enrolled in the art programs in all 14 GCS high schools.

J. L. Mann High Academy ninth grader Maya Ellone-McKenley took Best in Show honors. The exhibition was juried by Gibbs Museum of Art Curator of Collections Sara C. Arnold.

Awards for Best in Show, as well as first, second, third place and honorable mention in the five categories of Art I, Advanced Art 2D, Advanced Art 3D, photography, and Digital Media, were sponsored by the Artisphere International Art Festival.  A closing reception was sponsored by the Courtyard Marriott and Hampton Inn & Suites.

Twenty-one pieces from the show will be on exhibit at the Central Office of Greenville County Schools, 301 Camperdown Way, until next year's Juried Show. Summer hours for the Central Office are 7:30-5:30 Monday through Thursday. Visitors are welcome.
