Beverly Wilbanks Named National Outstanding Career Development Facilitator
The National Career Development Association has awarded the 2012 NCDA Outstanding Career Development Facilitator Award to Beverly Wilbanks, career development facilitator (CDF) at Blue Ridge Middle School.
Ms. Wilbanks works with the school's career exploration teacher to provide accurate cluster information, resources, assessments, and interpretations. She is responsible for coordinating on-site shadowing experiences and virtual job shadowing for students, as well as opportunities such as Career Dress-Up Day for teachers and staff and the development of Lunch-n-Learns for ongoing business interaction with students.
She routinely meets with grade level academic departments to integrate career concepts into all subject areas. In addition, Ms. Wilbanks works with counselors as they hold Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) conferences with students and parents.
