Shaun Belue and Rebecca Stone from Blue Ridge High School recently received national recognition at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Awards of Excellence. Shaun and Rebecca took the national 9th place award in Business Ethics after competing against 83 other teams.

Also competing from Blue Ridge High were Kennedy Crump and Karlee Gibson, who completed in the Digital Video Production category, and Ashling O’Boyle, Jenna Church, and Abby Roth, who competed in the E-Commerce category. The students are taught by business teacher Stephanie Casey.

More than 8,000 of America’s best and brightest youth traveled to the historic city of San Antonio to make some history of their own as they showcased their talents as future business leaders and vied for the opportunity to win over $95,000 in cash awards.

Participants from across the United States and two countries were in attendance for the FBLA conference to sharpen their core business skills, expand their networks, and participate in more than 55 business and business-related competitive events.

In addition to the competitions, students immersed themselves in educational workshops, visited an information-packed exhibit hall, and attended motivational keynotes on a broad range of business topics.
