The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has opened registration for the 18th annual Marcus Whitfield Youth Camp, schedule for July 9-13, 2018, at Berea High School.  The camp is designed for incoming 6th graders – incoming 10th graders as a youth outreach program in which deputies mentor youth in the community.  The fun-filled week involved deputies and youth partnering together to teach leadership, responsibility and life lessons through various team building exercises, water sports, community projects and many more exciting games.  The campers will hear motivational speakers, compete in team challenges and do various activities to promote positive relationships in the community.

The camp is in honor of Marcus Whitfield, who was shot and killed in the line of duty, in August, 1999.  Marcus’ sincere passion for helping the youth has carried on and his legacy lives today through the efforts of the camp.

The camp remains completely free for attendees and all expenses are covered through various fundraising and donations throughout the year.
