Auto Collision Repair will teach students the skills they need to obtain an entry level position in a collision shop, as well as provide a select few that exact opportunity during the second year. The class covers non-structural repair which includes learning to fix dents in sheet metal, plastic, and perform various MIG welds. During the second year, students will learn how to use a Refinishing Gun, apply various finishes to multiple substrates, and maintain those finishes. All students learn shop safety, proper tool use and employability skills.
Students who complete the class and pass the EOC can earn an ASE Student Certification in Painting and Refinishing as well as Non-Structural Repair. Other certifications include SP2 Safety and EPA rule 6H. Early College Credit through Greenville Technical College may be offered through this program. Students may also have the opportunity to intern between the first and second years of the program possibly leading into a co-op experience during their second year.
Many graduates have very successful Collison Repair careers at local shops. (2 Year Program - Grades 10-12)
