Golden Strip's EMS instructor, Mr. Chapman, received a $500 Greenville Federal Credit Union Foundation Teacher Grant to be used for AED training.
Mr. Chapman explains that “early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can significantly increase a person’s chance of survival. AEDs are designed to be user-friendly, but training helps people stay calm and use the device correctly under stress. Many people hesitate during emergencies because they are afraid of doing something wrong. Training helps remove that fear.”
