Nail Technology – G+

Working in the beauty industry can be very rewarding. Making someone feel beautiful can change their entire outlook, and yours as well. In this field you have the opportunity to showcase your artistic abilities as you develop skills in nail art and sculpting. Many nail techs often open their own salons and work for themselves, making this career choice filled with endless possibilities.

Nail Technology is a program governed by South Carolina State Board of Cosmetology. A student is required to earn 300 SCSB hours + 180 SCDE hours for a total of 480 Nail Technology hours and a minimum of 3 credits to be classified as a completer. After completion of this program and a passing score is met on the state board written and practical exam, a student will earn a professional Nail Technician License.

Careers include Nail Technician in a salon or spa, Salon Manager, Educator or Supervisor at a cosmetology school, Product Educator or Distributor, Nail Technician editorial for photo shoots & films, Podiatry Assistant (with additional medical training), etc.

(1 Year Program – Grades 10-12; MUST be 16 years old by February 1 of the academic year)
