Dr. George Ward began his career as a physical education teacher in 1997 In Laurens School District 55.  He served the students of Laurens 55 for 22 years as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent.  Dr. Ward joined Greenville County Schools in 2019 as an Employee Relations Representative in the Human Resources Department.  There he served for three years before being named Associate Superintendent for Operations. Dr. Ward earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Furman University and also earned an ED.S. and Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina.
