With Back-to-School events now behind us, teachers and support staff are ready to hoot loud for the coming year!
Spring 2025 SCREADY test scores are being analyzed and areas for growth are being targeted. Teachers are assessing this year's students in reading and math to set a benchmark on their present levels of performance. Administrators and Instructional Coaches are participating in classroom "learning walks" across the building to look for instructional practice trends. Classroom teachers are establishing math and reading groups in their rooms. All of this data will be used to chart a course for the 2025-2026 school year. It is a busy but productive time inside the school!
To support the work we are doing at Oakview, here are a few ways you can help from home:
- Check student bookbags daily
- Establish consistent homework times and supervision for students
- Ensure students get a good night’s sleep by removing iPads, cell phones, smartwatches, and other personal electronic devices from their bedroom
- Schedule time for breakfast each day (school breakfast is FREE for all students from 7:00-7:25 a.m.)
- Ensure students are in their classrooms BEFORE the tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m. by allowing for morning traffic and other routines
- Check your email regularly for communications from the teacher and school
For the children,
Dr. Phillip Reavis
