Enoree School Improvement Council
The Enoree School Improvement Council, commonly called the SIC, brings together parents, students, teachers, school leaders, and community members to support continuous improvement at Enoree Career Center.
The council serves in an advisory role to the school administration. Members review school information, discuss opportunities for growth, support improvement efforts, and help strengthen communication among the school, families, students, and community.
Purpose of the SIC
The School Improvement Council supports the development, monitoring, and communication of Enoree Career Center’s school improvement efforts.
The council may assist with:
- Reviewing school performance, attendance, achievement, accreditation, and other relevant data
- Supporting the development and annual review of the school improvement plan
- Monitoring progress toward school and district goals
- Identifying school-wide needs, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Gathering feedback from students, families, staff, and community members
- Supporting communication between the school and the broader community
- Assisting with the preparation of the annual report to parents and the community
- Providing advice and assistance requested by the school administration
Council Membership
The SIC is designed to represent the different groups that make up the Enoree community. Membership may include:
- Parents or guardians of current students
- Enoree teachers and staff members
- Students
- Business and community representatives
- School leadership serving in an advisory capacity
Parent, teacher, and student representatives are selected according to applicable South Carolina requirements and the council’s approved bylaws. Community representatives may be appointed to provide additional experience, perspective, and support.
Members are expected to attend meetings regularly, participate in council discussions, communicate with the groups they represent, and work collaboratively in support of students and school improvement.
Meetings and Public Participation
SIC meetings are open to parents, students, staff members, business partners, and community members. Visitors are welcome to attend and learn more about Enoree’s goals, progress, and improvement efforts.
The council may provide an opportunity for guests to share questions, feedback, or concerns during meetings. Public participation should follow the meeting agenda and any procedures established by the council.

Council Leadership
The council may elect officers such as a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Secretary in accordance with its bylaws.
- Chairperson: Works with school leadership to prepare agendas, facilitate meetings, and guide the work of the council.
- Vice Chairperson: Supports the Chairperson and assumes meeting responsibilities when the Chairperson is unavailable.
- Secretary: Maintains accurate meeting minutes, council records, correspondence, and other required documentation.
Role of School Leadership
School leadership supports the SIC by providing information, participating in discussions, communicating school priorities, and helping members understand student needs, school data, policies, programs, and improvement efforts.
The council is advisory in nature. Its role is to provide input, support, feedback, and community perspective rather than to manage the daily operation of the school.
Committees and Training
The SIC may establish standing committees or short-term task groups to focus on specific school-wide priorities. Committees may include council members and other individuals who can contribute useful experience or perspective.
Council members may also participate in training related to SIC responsibilities, school improvement planning, teamwork, communication, and effective decision-making.
