Important Reminders

Attendance, Course Credit, and Tardies

The school year consists of 180 school days. To receive credit for a 90-day semester course, students must attend at least 85 days and meet all minimum course requirements.

For a 90-day semester course, seat time recovery is required for every unlawful absence after the fifth unlawful absence. A student must attend the majority of a class session during a school day to receive attendance credit for that class.

Any student who enters the building after the tardy bell has rung must report to the main office to obtain a pass to class. Consequences for excessive tardies are listed in the student handbook.

Early Dismissals

An early dismissal may be arranged using one of the following methods:

Returning from an Absence

Any student who misses school must provide a written excuse signed by the student’s parent, legal guardian, or health care professional within three days after returning to school. The excuse should include the date of the absence and the reason for the absence.

If valid written documentation is not received within three days, the absence will be recorded as unlawful. The principal or the principal’s designee determines whether an absence is lawful or unlawful under Greenville County Schools attendance rules.

If attendance documentation is submitted to the student’s home high school, the student or parent must also notify the Enoree Career Center attendance clerk so the absence can be properly recorded at Enoree.
