Applying to Enoree

Current Enoree Career Center students returning to the same program do not need to reapply.

Rising Ninth-Grade Students

Current eighth-grade students may apply for the Career Exploratory program. Due to age requirements and other program prerequisites, rising ninth-grade students are not admitted directly into Enoree’s career programs.

Career Exploratory is a one-semester, two-credit course. Students earn one credit for Career Exploratory and one credit for Personal Finance. The Personal Finance credit fulfills the state graduation requirement.

Programs for Rising 10th-Grade Students

Enoree Career Center accepts applications from rising 10th-grade students for the following programs:

  • Automotive Collision Repair, two-year program
  • Automotive Technology, two-year program
  • Building Construction, two-year program
  • Career Exploratory, one-semester program
  • Culinary Arts, two-year program
  • Law Enforcement, one-year program
  • Firefighting, two-year program
  • Graphic Communications, two-year program
  • Production Engineering, two-year program
  • Mechatronics, two-year program
  • Welding, two-year program

Firefighting age requirement: Students must have a birthday before October 1.

Cosmetology is not available to rising 10th-grade students.

Programs for Rising 11th-Grade Students

Enoree Career Center accepts applications from rising 11th-grade students for the following programs:

  • Automotive Technology, two-year program
  • Building Construction, two-year program
  • Career Exploratory, one-semester program
  • Culinary Arts, two-year program
  • Law Enforcement, one-year program
  • Firefighting, two-year program
  • Graphic Communications, two-year program
  • Production Engineering, two-year program
  • Mechatronics, two-year program
  • Welding, two-year program

Application Considerations

Academics, attendance, and discipline are important factors when considering potential offers and are reviewed for each applicant.

Students are encouraged to use the student statement portion of the application to explain their interest in the program, how the program connects with their career goals, and the qualities they would bring to the program.

Acceptance is not based on a first-come, first-served process. However, when a program has more qualified applicants than available seats, the date the student completed the application may be considered.

Application Calendar

The application window for the 2026–27 school year is closed.

  • The application window was open from January 6 through February 27, 2026.
  • Acceptance notifications were scheduled for mid-April 2026.

How to Apply

Students Currently Attending a Greenville County School

  1. Sign in to the Student Backpack portal .
  2. Select Programs after signing in.
  3. Review the Backpack application instructions before completing the application.
  4. Select a first-choice program. Students are strongly encouraged to select a second-choice program to increase their opportunity for acceptance.
  5. Leave the second-choice field blank if the first-choice program is the only program the student is willing to attend.
  6. Request the selected Enoree course during high school course registration.

Open Student Backpack

Students Not Currently Attending a Greenville County School

Students currently enrolled in Greenville County Schools receive first priority for acceptance.

  1. Visit the Backpack portal .
  2. Under First Time Here, select I’m a Parent.
  3. Select Sign Up as a Parent.
  4. Add the student to the parent account and complete the program application.
  5. Complete the Student Information Form and submit a current transcript to the Enoree Career Center counselor.
