Enrollment & Withdrawals for 2024-25
2024 SUMMER ENROLLMENT
Start the enrollment process for the 2024-25 school year at any time using the Backpack for Parents Portal. Enrollment using Backpack for Parents can be accessed from any computer with internet access and from the kiosk in the Northwood front office.
Our Registrar is available to help you on July 24-25 betweem 7:30-5:00, and beginning on July 29, she will be in the office every weekday from 8:30-4:00.
Steps for enrollment:
- Visit the Find My School website to verify the school your student is zoned to attend.
- Gather the following documents:
- Parent/Guardian government-issued ID
- Two proofs of residency: Must contain physical property address and parent name, must be bills for services received at the residence within the last 30 days, can use signed mortgage/lease.
- Student birth certificate.
- SC Student Immunization Certificate, Waiver, or Religious Exemption Form.
- Documentation from previous school: Name, address, and phone number for previous school, withdrawal or transfer form, and most recent report card.
- If applicable: IEP or 504 plan for students receiving special accommodations, any court-ordered guardianship documents.
- Sign into the Backpack for Parents Portal system. If you do not currently have a login, you may review the Online Backpack for Parents Enrollment Training video. Click the "Enroll a New Student" section. Once there, follow the instructions to complete the enrollment application, upload enrollment documents, and submit the application.
Enrollment tips:
- If you are unable to upload required documents to the Backpack for Parents portal, you may email (dguion@greenville.k12.sc.us), fax (864-355-7077), or hand-deliver items (710 Ikes Rd, Taylors, SC, 29687).
- Enrollment applications will not be processed between May 30 - June 18, 2024.
- Paper enrollment forms and/or help with Backpack for Parents will be available on summer enrollment days.

2024 SUMMER WITHDRAWALS:
- If you will be moving out of the district, a parent/guardian must come in to Northwood and sign the required withdrawal paperwork.
- If you will be moving within the district, a parent/guardian must alert the student's current school of the address change and then visit the new school to register. Two proofs of residency for the new address will be required.
DHEC Immunization Clinic
In accordance with the State of SC and Greenville County Schools regulations, all students are required to have a "DHEC SC Certificate of Immunization" form on file prior to attending classes. This requirement is particularly important to any student new to the Greenville County School system and to rising 7th graders. All students entering 7th grade must receive a Tdap booster prior to receiving their schedule.

Extended Day Program
Are you interested in having your student attend our Extended Day Program? We have availability! Our "EDP" runs from 3:30-6:00 pm on regular school days, and students are provided with snacks, homework supervision, recreation, computer time, and special activities. We offer both full time (3+ days per week) and part time (1-2 days per week) options.

United Way
United Way of Greenville County will host "School Tools" on Sat, July 27, from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm at Carolina High & Academy @ 2725 Anderson Rd, Greenville, SC, 29611. Greenville County students and families are invited to this *FREE* event where they can receive free school supplies, information about free or low-cost community resources, food, music, and family-friendly fun!

Back to School Events 2024-25
Go ahead and mark your calendars for these 2024-25 back to school events!
We invite all rising 6th grade students to attend our 6th Grade Boot Camp which will be held on Monday, August 5th starting at 2:30 pm! A “Parent Boot Camp” will be held from 4:15 – 5:15 pm. Meet the Teacher for both parents and students will begin at 5:30 pm.
7th & 8th Grade Meet the Teacher will be held on Tuesday, August 6th. Students with a last name beginning with A-L may come to the school from 5:30 – 6:45 pm to pick up schedules and meet their teachers. Students with a last name that starts with M-Z can come between 6:45 – 8:00 pm.
Summer Meals
Greenville County Schools’ Food and Nutrition Services will be participating in the Seamless Summer Food Service Program during the months of June and July. Nutritionally-balanced meals will be provided to all children regardless of race, color, sex, disability, age or national origin during summer vacation when school breakfasts and lunches are not available. All children 18 years old and younger are eligible for meals at no charge. All meals must be consumed on-site.

Summer Break Cafe Program
The Summer Break Café Program is a state funded program that offers free breakfasts and lunches throughout the summer at sites throughout the country. LiveWell Greenville's Food Resource Map has the schedule and locations of all Summer Break Café sites throughout Greenville County. It also includes other food resources that can be helpful for families throughout the year. You can also dial 2-1-1 for additional support.
Pay Student Debts Online
Did you know you can pay your student's debt online anytime using MySchoolBucks? The system has a guest checkout feature, so you don't even need a log-in or password!
When your student receives a debt notice, please pay close attention to what the lost/damaged item is and the exact amount due. You will need this information prior to entering the MySchoolBucks site. The system will not reflect your student's personal debts.
Any fees not paid will follow your student throughout their time in Greenville County Schools and may impact future privileges (high school parking passes, prom tickets, etc). If you have located any items listed as lost, we encourage you to return the item so the fee can be waived!
Note: MySchoolBucks funds added to or available in lunch accounts cannot be applied to debts listed below.

Report Card Request Form
Northwood Middle School will not be mailing home paper copies of report cards at the end of the 2023-24 school year. Parents and students can check all final grades by logging into their GCS Backpack Account.
If a parent would like a hard copy of their student's report copy, please complete this Report Card Request Form. Report cards that have been requested using this link will be mailed home.
Is Your Address Up-To-Date?
As we are preparing for the next school year's registration, it is very important that we have your correct address information on file. This determines the school your student will attend. All address changes require proper documentation (two proofs of residency) to be presented to the school.
