We are asking all GCS families to complete the GCS Transportation Form for 2020-21 by Wed, July 15.
The form should be completed for EVERY student, including bus riders, car riders, walkers, bicyclists, and daycare bus riders.

In response to the needs of our community, GCS has added a new full-time virtual option for students in grades 5K-12. Unlike eLearning, which was implemented under emergency conditions during last spring's school shutdown, students in the Virtual Program will have a normal daily instructional schedule, earn grades, and receive timely teacher feedback in response to class or homework. Teachers experienced in online platforms and virtual instruction will help and support student engagement using live and recorded lessons and tutorials.
Online Free and Reduced Price Meal Applications are now available for the 2020-2021 school year. While paper applications will be provided for parents when students return to school, the online applications are by far the most accurate and efficient method to apply for Free or Reduced Priced Meals. On average, online applications are processed within 24-48 hour of completion. We highly encourage all parents to take advantage of this simple to use and fast process.
As a reminder, SC law requires that students entering 7th grade receive a dose of Tdap vaccine. Students entering the 7th grade who have NOT received the Tdap vaccine by the first day of school on August 17, 2020, will not be allowed to attend school until they have received the vaccine and provided proof to the school nurse.
If you are unsure if your child has met this requirement, please contact our school nurse, Ms. Arness, at 864-355-7007 or firstname.lastname@example.org
If your student is a rising 7th or 8th grader and interested in playing sports during the 2020-21 school year, please note that you will need to have a Planet HS account AND completed physical forms dated May 4, 2020, or later prior to being able to participate in any capacity. Don't delay - set up your profile and complete your forms today so your student is ready when conditioning and try out information is released!
As a reminder, your student must be in 7th or 8th grade to participate in school sports. Northwood plans to offer volleyball in the fall, boys' & girls' basketball in the winter, baseball and softball in the spring, and boys' and girls' soccer in the spring. If your student is interested in any sport NOT offered by Northwood, please contact the high school you are zoned for to inquire as to eligibility.
