Dear Bryson Elementary School Families:
I have really enjoyed my first year as a Bryson Bear! I feel fortunate to be part of such an amazing community and school. I look forward to working collaboratively with the staff, teachers, parents, and community members to help ensure our students at Bryson Elementary School are successful in reaching their goals. It is evident that your participation, collaboration, and support continue to be a driving force in the success of our school. I am inspired to share in that same vision as we move forward into this new year together.
We welcome our kindergarten families and any other new families this year. With that being said, I’d like to share a bit about myself. My family and I are originally from Ohio. I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a minor in Business Education. I am also certified in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I am married to my husband of twenty years, and we have two amazing children; Brandon, who is 19 years old and Ashley, who is 17 years old. Both of them are such bright lights in our lives! We are also huge Ohio State Buckeye fans!
My family and I love Greenville, South Carolina. I have had the privilege of working in Greenville County Schools for the last seven years. When we first moved here, I served as a fourth grade teacher at Buena Vista Elementary School for two years. I also spent two years at Mitchell Road Elementary School and one year at Welcome Elementary School as an assistant principal. This will be my second year as the principal of Bryson Elementary School. I have gained great insight from each opportunity.
Before moving to this wonderful area, my family and I lived in Georgia for three years. I taught fourth grade for two years and fifth grade for one year. While in Georgia, I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision. Prior to living in Georgia, my family and I resided in Florida for almost six years. During three of those years, I was lucky enough to stay home with my children. The other three years were spent teaching first graders.
I value the experiences I have acquired from some outstanding colleagues and leaders, who have taught me so much. I am so excited to work, learn, and grow with all stakeholders in the Bryson community! I look forward to partnering and collaborating with all of you to positively impact all students.
