Ms. Dechant is one of our first grade teachers. This is her 25th year of teaching at Welcome, but she has 25 total years of teaching experience. She is highly qualified in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education and has a Masters in Educational Technology. Ms. Dechant has taught K-4, K-5, 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, reading intervention for 2nd - 4th grades, computer, and challenge. This year is her ninth year in first grade. She loves sharing the gift of learning with all children and strives to make learning enjoyable and rewarding. The staff at Welcome Elementary is proud to have her as our 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year.
