The Challenge (Gifted and Talented) Program - In the fall of each year, the State Department of Education provides testing for students in grade two to determine their eligibility for Gifted and Talented Programs. Click here for more information about our challenge program.
Encore Program- Encore is Stone's after school enrichment program. Students can sign up to participate in 15-20 classes taught by local vendors and artists. Parents pay a monthly fee for students to participate in each class.
Friday Art for Arts Sake- Students experience art in a fun and engaging way on scheduled Fridays for the last hour of school. Examples are musical performances, interactive theater, etc....

Science Fun Day - Every year, in the spring, a day is devoted to Science. Students at all grade levels attend lectures and hands-on lessons in everything from rockets to exotic animals. Classes rotate through the various stations (4 or 5 per grade) taught by teachers and guests. Presenters include college professors, teachers from Roper Mountain Science Center, community volunteers, and parents who work in science fields.
Lego Robotics Team - This is an after school class where students are invited to participate based on their competence in science and math. Students program and create lego robotics and compete in district, state, and national competitions.
Science Fair - Each February, students at all grade levels participate in Science Fair. Students receive guidance from teachers (and upper grades from the Science Specialist as well). The February PTA Meeting features the fair and parents visit classrooms to view projects. The higher grades also participate in the district Science Fair.
Jumpstart News- 4th and 5th graders can participate in a daily live news show written, directed, and performed by students!
