The Stone Academy Student Council is made up of 8 fifth grade students and has adult sponsors. Student Council representatives are the President, Vice President, Secretary, Public Relations Coordinator, and four Class Representatives.
Purpose: The purpose of Stone Academy’s Student Council is to provide leadership, and to serve and represent the school, student body, and community.
Who can participate?
5th Grade Students who are either elected by peers or selected by teacher panel.
You must maintain at least a C average overall, with NO F’s each quarter.
You must maintain a good standard of citizenship – no referrals.
You must be willing to give of your time and effort whenever needed.
You must serve as a positive role model to other students at Stone Academy
By having a positive attitude; and by following ALL school/teacher rules.
When does Student Council meet?
Student Council meets monthly in Mrs. McClain's room after school
What does Student Council do?
Student Council is service-oriented and involved in activities or projects at Stone Academy (i.e. promoting various events, making posters for “Arts Alive,” selling snacks at Arty Dance Party, fundraising activities, etc…). Here’s what we’ve done:

Hoops for Hope Faculty vs. Student Basketball Game
100 Meals for Stone/Food Pantry
Pasta for Pennies for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
How are elections organized and handled?
Each fifth grade class nominates individuals for each of the four positions. The nominees’ speeches are recorded. Those speeches are aired for the fifth graders to view in class. Afterwards, the fifth graders vote on each position.
