Good Evening Sevier Families,

Sixth grade students will take Science Benchmarks on their in-person day on Monday or Tuesday, and Makeup Benchmark testing is scheduled on Wednesday or Thursday.

Select 8th graders are scheduled to take the PSAT on Thursday.  Parent and student reminder emails were sent by our Counseling Department.   Our 8th grade IGP conferences also continue this week.

Final 1st Quarter Grades will be available to view in Student and Parent Backpack accounts this Thursday, October 29th.  Paper copies will go home with Tuesday/Thursday students on Thursday. Monday/Wednesday students will receive copies on Monday, November 2nd.

We are celebrating Red Ribbon Week. The Red Ribbon Week Agenda is on our website.  There will be a daily call-in trivia contest and students are encouraged to participate in daily dress themes.  On Monday and Tuesday, our students and staff are encouraged to wear red.  On Wednesday and Thursday, students are encouraged to participate in Character Day.  For Character Day, students and staff may dress as a literary character or a grade level word or concept (something related to academic subject). Collared shirts are not required for those that participate, however, modesty is required.   Look-alike weapons, excessive makeup and full face masks are not allowed.  Costumes should not be gruesome or morbid, nor distracting and disruptive.  A label naming your character or word must be displayed on the costume.

7th and 8th graders interested in FBLA this year are asked to come by and see Mrs. Blakely for an application in Room 601. These are due by this Thursday, October 29th.

Sevier Basketball Tryouts have been rescheduled to begin November 9th for interested 7th & 8th graders.

We are inviting all students to participate in the PTA Reflections Contest.  This year’s theme is “I Matter Because…”   All entries are uploaded by the student/parent this year and are due by November 26th. Students may submit as many entries as they like in the categories of Film Production, Dance Choreography, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts.  Gift cards will be awarded to the winners in each category.

We would like to thank our new PTA Business Sponsors Nichols Lawns Services, 864 Food Trucks, and Brookshire Collision Repair.  We appreciate their support.
