Principal's Message

Messenger Email  05.17.2020

Good Evening Sevier Families,

Hope this messenger finds you and your family doing well, staying strong, and making the most of these circumstances that we are all facing today.  We miss all of you and cannot wait to be back together in our beautiful school.  The staff at Sevier shared a special message this week with our community, if you have not seen the video message, go to our website and open the video titled, “A Message to our Falcon Families.”

We will continue eLearning this week.  Many of us are starting to get eLearning fatigue and that is an expected condition at this point.  We have two more weeks of content, so I encourage all of our students to finish this adventure strong.

The Sevier staff has been working this past week, and will continue this week, to pack up student items and store them in staging areas for pick up.  We will hold student pick up and drop off the week of June 1.  During this week students will return their Chromebook, charger, books, and any other materials to the school, as well as pick up their personal items that were in the school when we shutdown.  Sixth Grade day is June 1st, Seventh Grade day is June 2nd, and Eighth Grade day is June 3rd.  We will need to accommodate close to three hundred families on each of these days, we will be dividing the day into time slots, to make the process more efficient.  A schedule along with details on the process will be published soon.

Due to the COVID 19 virus, the company publishing our yearbook had to shut down for a period of time.  This delayed the printing of our yearbooks.  They are scheduled to arrive on June 3rd to our campus.  We will have yearbook day on June 4th.  You will be able to pick up your yearbooks at the school.  We will also have a limited number of yearbooks for purchase on June 4th.

Over the next month or two, there will be many decisions made regarding schools in South Carolina.  There will also be many stories, social media posts, and public dialogue on this topic.  I encourage you to keep informed on what is going on with our schools during this time.  Pay attention to source of the information, and distinguish between ideas and decisions.  Our district website and the Sevier website will be reliable sources for up to date accurate information.

Hope you had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend, thank you for your time tonight, and as always, Go Falcons!

Thank You,

Mr. Chad Maguire, Principal
