Principal's Weekly Message

Weekly Message for the Week of October 21 - 25, 2019

Good Evening Sevier Families,

We are celebrating Red Ribbon Week, an annual drug prevention awareness campaign held each October.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in activities and dress themes each day this week.  The attached Red Ribbon Week Agenda is available on the website.

Our first quarter grading period ends this Tuesday, October 22nd.  Parents that have not yet completed setting up their parent backpack accounts should sit with their student to view their student backpack account for current grades and assignments.  The attached Parent backpack setup instructions flyer is available on our website along with an instructional video.     Report cards will be issued October 30th.

We want to congratulate Mrs. Pinyons’ homeroom for winning the Fuss Free Fundraiser Homeroom Competition. Their homeroom donations collected since the beginning of school until the October 11th deadline totaled $565.00.   They will receive a Donut Party this Wednesday.   Our total amount collected from our Fuss Free Fundraiser was $2,805 of our benchmark goal of $5000.  PTA will still accept donations for any Sevier families that are still interested in contributing.  Donations may be turned into the front office or paid online at the PTA Store.

If you have not been receiving volunteer signup emails from our PTA, please take time to complete this Online Parent Contact Form.  This information will be shared with PTA to allow parents to keep in the loop of volunteer opportunities.  This does not obligate you to participate in any way.  Our Staff Appreciation Committee is in need of volunteers for an upcoming project, and would love your involvement.  We will also have other volunteer requests emailed soon.

PTA would also like to send a reminder that online spirit gear orders will be delivered to students Friday in 6th Period classes.

8th Grade IGP meetings continue November 20th.   Those parents that did not sign up for an appointment were mailed letters to the address on file for the student.  Parents are reminded to arrive five minutes early for your appointment in order to keep meetings on schedule.

Band, Strings, and Chorus students are reminded to turn in any remaining fundraiser packet by this Monday (Oct. 21).

Looking ahead on the calendar, students will be out of school on October 28th and 29th for Teacher Workdays.  We will be hosting a limited number of parent conferences on Tuesday, October 29.  Sign up links will be available on our website at 12pm on Tuesday of this week.  If your student is struggling this year, I encourage you to sign up for a conference time.  We also have email links to all of our teachers on our website in the directory under the staff tab.

Parents may go to the student page of our website for more details on the week’s events.
