March 2019

Dear Lake Forest Family,

Spring Pictures will be taken Friday, March 8. Pictures will only be taken of students who bring their prepaid envelope. Yearbooks are also on sale for $20. Our yearbooks feature color pictures on every page with a lot of great pictures. We look forward to passing out yearbooks on our school-wide yearbook day, May 28. A few additional yearbooks are ordered to be sold that day. To ensure your child receives a yearbook, we encourage you to pre-buy one.

We have some fun family events coming the month of March, and we hope you make plans to attend.

On Monday, March 11, we look forward to holding our first ever STEAM Night. Families will be invited to participate in different STEAM activities (science, technology, engineering, art, math). Here is the schedule for the evening:

5:00—FREE dinner (first come, first served basis)

6:00—PTA Meeting followed by 4th Grade Performance (cafeteria)

6:30—STEAM Activities Begin  in Classrooms

The book fair will also be open from 5:00-7:30 pm. Students who participate in at least 5 STEAM activities will receive a prize. We hope you make plans to join us.

The Lake Forest PTA looks forward to kicking off our very own Color Fun Run fundraiser on March 11. Students will receive prizes at different dollar amounts. Students who bring in $15 of donations will receive a t-shirt to wear on the day of the Color Run. All students will get to participate in the Color Fun Run on March 22. Please look for information coming home later this week.

We have missed three days of school so far this year due to weather concerns (1 for Hurricane Michael and 2 for Winter Storm Diego). As planned in our 2018-2019 calendar, we will make up the three days on March 22, March 25, and April 22.

The 2019-2020 school calendar was released March 4. To view next school year’s calendar, click the link below or visit Greenville County Schools webpage.

New calendar:

Thank you for your continued support of Lake Forest. We have the best students, staff, and parents. Please let me know if I can assist you in any way.
