Greetings Parents and Families of Greer Middle School (GMS):

My name is Daniel Bruce and I’m extremely happy to serve a wonderful community and school as Principal. I’m very passionate about education and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a “World-Class Education” and a quality middle school experience. As the parent of four girls, Pamela (21), Nataly (17), Daniela (11), and Isabella (9), my wife and I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s emotional, social, and academic needs are met.

As a product of Greenville County Schools, my life has been deeply enhanced by the teachers, coaches, and administrators who influenced me. Not only did they provide me with a sound foundation, but they inspired me to realize that an education is more than academics, though important; but they taught me that it is the genuine love and caring for the people you serve that will truly make a difference.

Before joining GMS, I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles over the past 10 years, exclusively with Greenville County Schools. Some of the roles I have held include para- educator, middle school teacher, coach, and athletic director, 9-12 administrative assistant and assistant principal My academic background includes a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision, and a Bachelor of Arts in History.

I will be working closely with the faculty and staff, to guarantee that all of our students have access to the emotional, social, and academic support critical to students during the middle school years. Please get involved with the Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) to ensure that your voices are heard or send me an email directly at wobruce@greenville.k12.sc.us

Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.

Sincerely,

Mr. W. Daniel Bruce
