Dear Woodland Families,
I hope you and your family had a wonderful summer and enjoyed time together “Sharpening the Saw.” Woodland’s enrollment has now reached 1,270 students, making us the second largest elementary school in South Carolina. Even though we are a large school, we remain student-centered and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
Over the past two years, Woodland has experienced exciting changes. Our recent expansion added 24 classrooms, a flex space, a multipurpose room, and new office spaces. We also expanded our cafeteria, renovated the Media Center, updated playgrounds, replaced the roof, and made several additional improvements throughout the school.
This year’s theme is “Blazing the Trail… Lead, Expand, Empower!” As Woodland continues to grow, we celebrate the growth mindset of our teachers and students. Our school’s academic success comes from high expectations, rigorous instruction, community support, and the hard work of our students.
Woodland has proudly been a Leader in Me Lighthouse School for more than eight years. Our students take on leadership roles in their classrooms and throughout the school, practicing the 8 Habits that will prepare them for success now and in the future. We are proud to be shaping tomorrow’s leaders.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to another wonderful year at Woodland Elementary.
Yours in serving children,
Katrina Miller
