Dear Parents of Pelham Road Elementary,
My name is Kristy Qualls and I am the proud principal of Pelham Road Elementary School! I am truly humbled and blessed to be a part of an outstanding school community with a strong reputation for academic success and parental support. The outstanding work that has been accomplished at Pelham Road speaks to your dedication and commitment in collaborating with us. I share your drive and passion for excellence. When I am not at school, I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, shopping (especially high heels), and eating at new restaurants in town.
I am also a Clemson fan! I received my undergraduate degree from Clemson in Early Childhood Education – Go Tigers! I also have a Master’s degree from Columbia College in Divergent Learning and a Master’s in School Leadership from Furman University. I have been dedicated to public education and Greenville County Schools since I was a student myself. I am a proud product of Greenville County Schools. My teaching career began at Alexander Elementary School as a classroom teacher, mostly in 3rd grade. After eight years at Alexander, I was recruited and the first teacher hired at A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School in downtown Greenville. I taught 2nd grade and 3rd grade. My administrative journey also began at AJ Whittenberg where I served as Administrative Assistant for 3 years before transitioning to Welcome Elementary School as Assistant Principal for a year.
It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve you and your family as principal! This year promises to be another year where great memories will be made, new friendships will be formed, and new learning will take place! Like the teachers and staff, I stand ready to assist and support you and your family. You can reach out to me by phone or email with any questions or concerns that you may have.
My name is Marsha Braga and I am the Assistant Principal of Pelham Road Elementary School. I am excited and honored to be a part of the Pelham Road family. This is a special school and I share your commitment to academic success and strong sense of community.
When I am not at school, I love traveling, eating out, walking, and spending time with family and friends. My husband and I are about to be new empty nesters as we send our son, Frank, off to Anderson University this year.
I received my undergraduate degree from Clemson University in Elementary Education – Go Tigers! I also have a Master’s degree in School Leadership from Furman University. I began my teaching career at Mitchell Road Elementary School as a 5th grade teacher. I then transitioned from the classroom into a science lab teacher to 1st through 5th grade students. After about six years in the science lab I went back into the classroom. I taught 5th grade at Paris Elementary for ten years. In August 2019 I moved into administration as the AA at Chandler Creek Elementary.
I am truly honored to be serving the Pelham Road All Star community as your Assistant Principal. I am excited to meet all of you and support you any way I can. Please feel free to reach out to me by phone or email with any questions or concerns.
