Dear Parents of Pelham Road Elementary,
My name is Mrs. Kristy Qualls and I am the proud principal of Pelham Road Elementary School! I am truly humbled and blessed to be a part of an outstanding school community with a strong reputation for academic success and parental support. The outstanding work that has been accomplished at Pelham Road speaks to your dedication and commitment in collaborating with the school. I share your drive and passion for excellence!
On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Damon Qualls for 10 years. He is also an elementary school principal in our district! Mr. Qualls is principal at Monaview Elementary School. We enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends during my free time. I also enjoy exercising, shopping, and seafood!
I am also a Clemson fan! I received my undergraduate degree from Clemson in Early Childhood Education – Go Tigers! I also have a Master’s degree from Columbia College in Divergent Learning and a Master’s in School Leadership from Furman University. I have been dedicated to public education and Greenville County Schools for more than 17 years. My teaching career began at Alexander Elementary School as a classroom teacher, mostly in 3rd grade. After eight years at Alexander, I was recruited and the first teacher hired at A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School in downtown Greenville in 2010. I taught 2nd grade and 3rd grade. My administrative journey also began at AJ Whittenberg! I was named Administrative Assistant in 2012 and I served in this role for 3 years before transitioning to Welcome Elementary School as Assistant Principal for the 2015-2016 school year. Thereafter, in 2016, I was named principal of Pelham Road.
It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve you and your family as principal for the 4th year! This year promises to be another year where great memories will be made, new friendships will be formed, and new learning will take place! Like the teachers and staff, I stand ready to assist and support you and your family. You can reach out to me by phone or email with any questions or concerns that you may have.
Hello, All Star Families,
My name is Heather Dye, and I am honored to be named Assistant Principal of Pelham Road Elementary. I look forward to meeting and working with each and every one of you this school year. I am strongly committed to the success of our students and proudly serve Greenville County Schools, where I was once a student as well.
I am native of Greenville, attending Plain Elementary, Bethel Elementary, Hillcrest Middle, and Mauldin High School. Upon graduation, I attended Clemson University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Go Tigers!
I began my teaching career at Homeland Park Elementary in Anderson School District Five. While at Homeland Park, I taught Second Grade and Fifth Grade and was named Teacher of the Year. While teaching in Anderson, I decided to begin graduate school and attended Furman University, receiving a Master’s Degree in School Leadership and Supervision. Go Paladins! After six years in Anderson School District Five, I returned home to teach in Greenville and was fortunate to join the staff of the newly built AJ Whittenberg Elementary as a member of the very first faculty and staff. During my six years at AJ Whittenberg Elementary, I taught Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grades and was named Teacher of the Year. After twelve years as a classroom teacher, I stepped into administration at Mitchell Road Elementary School, serving as Administrative Assistant and Assistant Principal in my four years as a Mustang. During my years at Mitchell Road Elementary, I was selected as a member of Greenville County School’s Instructional Leadership Academy and recently completed the Greenville County School’s Aspiring Principal’s Institute. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and attending live music shows.
If I can be of any service to you and your family, please do not hesitate to contact me.
