Attendance Information

Welcome to the Cherrydale Elementary Attendance Information Page. You can find answers to questions you may have regarding your child's attendance. Please feel free to call our school office for any questions at 864-355-3300.

Here are a few reminders to help you and your student have a successful year at Cherrydale Elementary.We appreciate your continued support in ensuring a smooth and safe school experience for all students. Please take note of the following reminders regarding attendance and dismissal procedures:

  • The building opens for students at 7:00 am
  • School starts promptly at 7:45 am
  • No early dismissals after 1:30 pm
  • School is dismissed at 2:15 pm
  • Students should be picked up from school no later than 2:30pm
  • Afternoon Transportation Changes: If you need to change how your child will go home, please notify the school before 1:00 PM. Any requests received after 1:00 PM will not be accommodated unless it is an absolute emergency.
  • Early Dismissal: If you know your child will have an early dismissal, please send in a note to let your child's teacher know in case they will be at lunch, recess, or related arts.
  • A parent must send a note for ANY absence or it will remain unexcused.
  • Absences in excess of ten (10) days will not be considered excused with a parent/guardian note unless accompanied by official medical documentation or otherwise approved by the principal as a lawful absence
  • A student must attend at least 3 hours or 180  minutes to be counted present for the day.
