Two Communities, One School

Sterling draws from two communities that often overlap, not separate tracks. A Nicholtown student can absolutely also be identified as highly gifted, and vice versa.

What Is a Whole-Child School?

A whole-child school is an educational institution that focuses on a student's complete development, including social, emotional, physical, and mental well-being, rather than just academic test scores.

Academic Growth

Teaches critical thinking, problem-solving, and core subjects while meeting each student at their unique developmental level.

Social & Emotional Learning

Helps children build self-awareness, empathy, emotional regulation, and strong relationship skills.

Physical Health

Encourages proper nutrition, physical activity, and overall bodily well-being to support focus and mood.

Safe Environment

Creates an inclusive, welcoming school climate where students feel physically and emotionally secure.

These initiatives are spearheaded by members of the school leadership team, instructional team, and various grade level and content area leaders, with the ultimate goal of creating an environment in which each student receives a personalized educational experience that allows them to explore their world, be enriched, and excel both academically and emotionally.
