Battle of the Books (BOB): BOB is a book trivia competition for 4th & 5th grades. Members of Sterling’s BOB team are expected to read all 10 books that are on the designated BOB list. The team will practice twice a week during recess/flex time. In the spring we will compete in regional competitions with other school teams from our area. Chess Lessons: Think Move Chess will be returning again this year to teach Chess Lessons on Friday afternoons from 2:35 - 3:35 beginning on September 4th. There are 2 options:

Dungeons & Dragons Role Playing: Grades 5th - 8th D&D is a fun, collaborative, role-playing Game where you fight monsters, solve mysteries, look for treasure, create many different characters and personalities, and have the most fun possible! Filling out this form does NOT automatically register you as a member of Dungeons and Dragons club. This form will help us gather interest and determine the number of players the club can support for a fun experience!
Students INTERESTED in joining D&D club, please fill out THIS FORM by September 10th. We will notify you about Registration CONFIRMATION before we begin our Thursday sessions in October. Official Start date TBA. Our regular club will meet on Thursdays from 2:30 - 4:00. First session will be held in October. Look for an email from Ms. Parks, to announce beginning dates and further details.

Ham Radio Club - Grades 6th-8th: In the HAM Radio club you will learn the physics behind how radios work, how to use a radio properly, and how to earn your license. There will be a $30 fee (Collected at a later date) if a student would like to pursue their HAM Radio License. Some of our advanced members have already earned their license! This club meets on Wednesdays, from 2:30 - 3:45 Sign up form
Homework Helpers Club: 6th-8th Grades: Info and permission slip Are you interested in helping out others with homework or explaining tricky concepts? Become a student helper in our Homework Helpers Club! (Homework Helpers hours count for service hours). Students who have teacher recommendations for the subject(s) they want to help with can volunteer to help their peers with homework before school in the library from 7:20-7:40am.
Library Cadets: Grades 5th-8th Students will be assigned a section of the library that they are responsible for. They will ensure that books in that section are in order and neat on the shelves. Pokemon Club - Grades 3rd-8th: This club is about trading and playing Pokemon. The club will be 45 minutes long with the first 15 minutes being for trading, and the last 30 minutes will be for battling. The club will meet each MONDAY from 2:30-3:15pm. Starting September 14th. You will receive an email to confirm your spot in the club as space is limited. Please complete the INTEREST FORM.
Science Olympiads Club - Grades 6-8: This club will meet on Fridays from 2:30 - 4:00. Starting in mid-September. Members of the club will participate in activities to prepare them for competition in February. Science Olympiad is an international non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest in science and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education by both students and teachers. Science Olympiad tournaments are rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of team events, which students prepare for during the year. These challenging and motivational events are well balanced between the various science disciplines of biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, and technology. Science Olympiad has members in all 50 states totaling more than 13,500 actively participating K-12 schools. Registration Form.
Strings Program - 3rd –5th grades: Does your child love music or want to learn to play a string instrument? Our Strings Program is a wonderful opportunity to build musical skills, learn alongside friends, and experience the joy of making music together! Strings will meet on Wednesdays from 2:15–3:00 p.m. beginning September 9. Students must sign up in advance to participate. Questions? Please reach out to Mrs. Martin.
Volleyball Club - 5th - 8th grades: Practices take place on Fridays from 2:30 - 3:30. The fee for this club is $35. Membership will be confirmed based on the number of students who are interested. Your child will either be accepted or added to the waitlist - depending on how many respond. Registration form required.
