The district's magnet academies of accelerated learning offer unique educational choices to the students of Greenville County to meet their individual needs with a theme or focus that is designed to give students an opportunity to explore a special interest, gift, talent or skill. Each magnet academy will conduct an open house to explain the magnet application process and discuss the unique characteristics of its magnet program. Please see the schedule for each academy’s open house date, time, and format, and please continue to check each academy’s website for any updates to their open house schedule.
For over 50 years, students have been creating original works of art of their own Reflections expressing their hopes, their feelings, and worlds. The National PTA Reflections Program welcomes students of all grades and abilities to explore and participate in the arts. Students reflect on a theme and create original works of art in the areas of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Students earn positive recognition for their achievements.

We would love for your student to be involved this year. Mauldin Elementary has had several winners in the past, and we hope to keep that tradition going this year.

“Let’s Talk,” is the district’s new Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum. There are two PDF documents to help you understand the purpose of SEL and the intended outcomes. A new SEL page is also on the GCS website, providing more details of the benefits of Social Emotional Learning.
