Enrolling Students

Enrolling a Student Welcome to Armstrong ES.   If you are new and need to enroll your child, please access the Greenville County Schools enrollment forms here.  If you have an address change, a telephone change, a job change or anything that we need to be aware of, please be sure to stop by our office and give us your new information or send it to us in writing with your child. It is very important that we have current information in case we need to reach you. Thank you for your cooperation.  Greenville County Schools has a webpage for parents that is full of information and important forms.  You can access that page here or by going to the Greenville County Schools website and clicking on the Parent page.

Visiting and Volunteering

We welcome visitors and volunteers at Armstrong ES.  We have new guidelines for guests to follow in order to ensure the safety of our students.  The guidelines can be found on the Greenville County website just click here

Car Riders

For safety, please drop off and pick up your child in the designated area in the front of the school. You must have an Armstrong issued car tag when you come in the afternoon car line. If you do not, you will be asked to park and come inside with a valid ID to pick up your child. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our children safe.

Breakfast

Breakfast starts at 7:00 AM. This is a great time to drop off your child and let them eat breakfast at school for free.

Sick Child

You are required to keep your child home if he or she has a fever of 100 degrees or higher or has been vomiting.  Consider keeping your child home if he or she has symptoms that prevent him or her from participating in school, such as excessive tiredness,  lack of appetite, productive cough, sneezing, headache, body aches, earache or sore throat.

Be Aware of Traffic Rules

Parents and others driving on South Carolina roads should be aware of state law that mandates that a motorist stop for a stopped school bus with flashing lights under these conditions: if you are on a two-lane highway, travelling in either direction, you must stop; if you are on a multi-lane highway traveling behind the bus, you must stop. If you are on a multi-lane highway and meet a stopped school bus heading toward you, you do not have to stop but should simply slow down and pass with caution. The fine for passing a stopped school bus can be as much as $1,000 and up to 30 days in jail for a first offense.

Dress Code

The purpose of a standard code of dress is to instill school pride, to provide for school safety, to reduce school clothing costs, to create a sense of school community between staff and students, to focus our environment on academics, and instill a work ethic by teaching children that professional dress in the workplace is an expectation for success.  Student Code of Dress Note:  It is at the discretion of Administration to have a “free choice” dress day occasionally (for example Picture Day, Spirit Day, etc.).  On these days, students must adhere to the Greenville County School District Dress Code Guidelines contained within the Armstrong Student Handbook.
