February 20, 2015

We have had a very short week here this time and have now rescheduled several planned events.  The new date for the PTA’s parent breakfast with the Palliative Care group from Greenville Hospital System is April 15, so parents will be receiving a form to complete to let us know if you will be able to attend.  We were pleased with the interest we had when we thought the event would be this week and hope even more folks will take advantage of this opportunity in April.  Also, keep in mind the March 18th luncheon with attorney Don Clardy who will provide parents with information about legal matters related to children with disabilities.

We are continuing to take orders for yearbooks until next Friday.  Each student family will receive a yearbook at no charge, however, we as staff members will need to purchase ours, and certainly we welcome any donations that folks might wish to direct toward this project.

Our friends, the Knights of Columbus, have come through for us again, and we will be attending dinner tonight with the Mauldin group who will be making another generous donation to our school.  This is especially helpful right now because we are going to make some changes in our sensory rooms, and will be purchasing new items for the ball pits.

Next Friday we are looking forward to our annual Freedom Walk commemorating Black History Month.  Each class will set up a station featuring some aspect of black history, and students will travel through the halls looking at bulletin board displays and hearing about the contributions African Americans have made to our history.

Please make certain to put April 25th on your calendar for Walk and Roll and I hope everyone will have an enjoyable weekend.
