Mrs. Virginia Cook’s Washington Center class recently visited the Home Depot for a Community Based Instructional trip.  While touring the facility, the class talked with the employees about their jobs. Students learned how to choose a paint color and the difference between spray paint and canned paint. Personnel in the lumber yard demonstrated different types of wood for a variety of projects. The favorite departments were the lighting fixtures and ceiling fans where discussions were about how a light fixture worked from the ceiling and about turning them on and off.  Students also learned about different types of energy efficient light bulbs that save electricity.
