Mrs. Nardia Lloyd’s Washington Center class participates in a weekly meal preparation class known as Seagull Grill. Seagull Grill provides daily living and independent functioning skills; while supporting community based instruction. Students are able to work on math skills through measurement, sorting and counting money. Seagull Grill also provides a real life experience that allows students to work on communication skills, using sign language and assistive technology, to greet customers.
Washington Center student Vijay Rangwalla helps measure cheese into serving cups with the assistance of Daily Living Teacher Sarah Ashworth. Mrs. Nardia Lloyd’s class serves meals for the staff through the school’s Seagull Grill meal preparation instructional program.
