Washington Center students have been studying butterflies in the Adaptive Environmental Science Class.  For three weeks, students observed how insects started from a chrysalis to emerge as Painted Lady butterflies. Students are fascinated watching stages of the metamorphosis transformation.  Under the direction of Science Teacher Cathy Bush, butterfly habitats, foods and life cycles are experienced through this reality project.
