Ms. Christie Payne was recently named Principal of Sue Cleveland Elementary School by the Greenville County School District Board of Trustees.
Ms. Payne comes to us from Anderson School District Five where she was the principal at Homeland Park Primary School. She has provided instructional leadership to students, families, and staff in Anderson School District Five for the last 17 years. She began her career in Anderson School District Three where she served as a classroom teacher for seven years before joining Anderson Five in 2000. She has served in various leadership roles including Reading Recovery, Instructional Specialist, and Assistant Principal. In addition, Ms. Payne has worked as an Elementary Literacy Consultant for Georgetown County Schools.
Ms. Payne holds a bachelor of arts in elementary education from Limestone College, a certification in early childhood from Converse College, and a master of education in school administration and supervision from Regent University. She is also a member of the National Association for Elementary School Principals, the South Carolina Association for School Administrators, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Professional Development Affiliates Program of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills, and Delta Kappa Gamma, Theta Chapter.
Ms. Payne is thrilled to join the Sue Cleveland family and she looks forward to continuing the strong tradition of excellence established under the leadership of Mrs. Chambers.
