Students should turn a note in for ANY absence(s) within 2 days of returning to school.
Students or parents/guardians may submit absence notes to the front office. Alternatively, absence notes may be emailed or faxed to Kerri Griffith (contact information listed above), or they can also be uploaded using this form.
Once a student misses more than 3 hours of the school day, he/she is counted absent for the entire day.
A student does not exceed the 10 day absence limit until the student has reached his/her 11th unlawful (unexcused) absence.
Any absence that is not accompanied by a valid absence note is considered unexcused.
School begins at 8:25 for all grades. Students not in first period at 8:25 are tardy.
All students are allowed three tardies to school per quarter without a consequence.
Tardies are unexcused unless a medical note is provided when a student arrives.
School administration will become involved after a student has exceeded three tardies.
For more information please refer to the Student Handbook.
Early Dismissals:
On the day a student needs to leave early, he/she must bring a note with the date, time of dismissal and signature of parent/guardian to the office by 8:25 am the day of the dismissal.
Please schedule all early dismissals before 2:30 p.m.
If an early dismissal causes a student to miss more than 3 hours of the school day, he/she is counted absent for the entire day.
Early dismissals are excused for the same reasons that apply for excused absences.
The student's parent/guardian or designated adult on the student's account will show a photo ID (driver's license or state ID) and sign out the student on the provided clipboard.
If a parent arrives for an early dismissal without a note, we’ll request he/she wait until the next class change in order not to disrupt valuable class time.
