The 5^th grade team is composed of Mrs. Balsley, Mr. Esposito, Mr. Garrett, Mrs. Laemmel, Mrs. Materna, and Mrs. Van Tassel. Our fifth grade level is unique at Thomas E. Kerns, because it is split into three teams.  Team teaching is a strategy where certain teachers instruct specific subjects.  The students then transition to their second teachers classrooms to begin instruction in a different subject.  Mr. Esposito and Mrs. Laemmel make up one team, Mrs. Balsley and Mrs. Materna make up a team, and Mr. Garrett and Mrs. Van Tassel construct the other team.  Below is the picture of our fifth grade teachers.  If you click on their names, you will also be taken to their classroom webpage.
