2nd Quarter AR Celebration
Congratulations to the Ellen Woodside students who reached their AR Goal for the second quarter! All students who met their goal were invited to a dance party during school. Everyone had a great time celebrating with some good music and dancing.
Congratulations to our students who were named Terrific Kids for the first quarter. Terrific Kids is a student-recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance. “Terrific” is an acronym for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable.
Thank you to all of our Veteran's for your service! Veteran's were honored at Ellen Woodside during lunch provided by the Augusta Road Ruritan Club on November 10, 2017. A white table was displayed in honor of fallen Veterans. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Joshua Sullivan spoke to Ms. Jefferies' kindergarten students about what it means to be a Veteran. He shared information about his time in the Marine Corps and shared all about his uniform.
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week was a success! Students learned abou the importantance of living a healthy lifestyle through activities they participated in all week. Students also rasied money for the Make A Wish foundation on iWish day! See more pictures here.
Color Run 2017
Thank you to everyone who made our Color Run a great success! Our students had so much fun raising money for our school to get more technology, gym equipment, and much more. Please remember, all Color Run money should be turned in by October 13th.
Denver Downs Field Trip
The first grade students from Ellen Woodside took a field trip for the first time to Denver Downs Farms. They had a wonderful time getting to experience so many new things while at the farm. One of their favorite activities was getting to go on a hayride and picking out the perfect pumpkin to take home. More...
Two students from each 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade class are chosen to be Riley Readers each year. These students walk to the Riley center once a month to read to the K4 students. Students bring books with them to share their love of reading with Riley CDC students. Click here for pictures.
