Summer Reading!Make a splash with our summer reading program for Bethel students! Reading bingo cards will be sent home with report cards. Fill in the entire board and you will be invited to the summer reading party. We would also love to have a picture of students reading over the summer. Return your completed game card by Friday, August 24, 2018.
Spring TestingThis year, students in third, fourth, and fifth grades will be taking the SC College-and-Career Ready Assessment (SC READY). Students in those grades will take ELA (writing and reading) and mathematics tests. Additionally, students in fourth and fifth grades will take SC Palmetto Assessments of State Standards (SCPASS) science (4th grade) and social studies (5th grade) tests. Please check the testing calendar to see which days your student will be testing and make sure they are on time to school those days.
Box TopsWe are winding down a very successful Box Top year here at Bethel! May will be an exciting month where we will reward the winner that brings in the MOST Box Tops! There will be two prizes given. One for the winner in the K5-2nd grade division and one for the winner in the 3rd-5th grade division. Thanks to all of the parents for cutting those Box Tops and sending them in each month!!
School Visitor and Volunteer Guidelines
ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST RECEIVE DISTRICT APPROVAL PRIOR TO VOLUNTEERING AT ANY SCHOOL/CENTER OR CHAPERONING ANY SCHOOL FIELD TRIP. PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 2-WEEKS FOR THE APPROVAL PROCESS.
Greenville County Schools (GCS), in an effort to ensure the safety of all of our students, has implemented additional security checks for school volunteers. All volunteers must submit an online application to the district and receive clearance from the district before volunteering at any school/center or chaperoning any school field trip. Just a reminder to parents that we encourage students to bring in their own headphones or earbuds for use in the computer labs or classrooms. The school store is open Friday mornings and sells them for $2.00. Thanks!
