GCS Job Fair- September 29, 2026

Greenville County Schools will host a Job Fair on Tuesday,  September 29 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Lifelong Learning at the Sullivan Center, 206 Wilkins Street, Greenville.  Anyone wishing to apply for bus driver, bus aide, custodian, or food service positions is welcome to attend.  GREAT BENEFITS, including health and dental, retirement, sick leave, and free life insurance, are available for employees who work 30 or more hours per week.  If you are interested in working at a job where you can make a difference in the quality of our community and receive great benefits, you are encouraged to attend this event. BRMS Tiger Tours

Are you curious about the transition to middle school? Take a Tiger Tour and see Blue Ridge Middle School in action!  You can meet the administrators, talk with counselors, visit 6th-grade classes,  and visit related arts classes.  All tours start at 9:30 AM. STEAM Night- Ocotber 12

STEAM Night is back again! Join us at 5:30 PM on October 12, for some Science Magic with Science on Wheels brought to us by Roper Mountain Science Center. Sometimes science demonstrations can seem like magic. The difference is scientists love to explain how things work! Our educator will perform several demonstrations that may first seem like magic. With the help of volunteers and observations from the audience, we will figure out the science behind the trick, and learn what is really happening.   PTA is providing dinner for those in attendance. Please complete the RSVP Google Form to reserve your plate. 

Second Grade Testing Dates

Second graders will be tested on the following days and subjects:

• October 6 CogAT- Picture Analogies, Sentence Completion, Picture Classification, Number Analogies, Number Puzzles
• October 7 CogAT- Number Sentences, Figure Matrices, Paper Folding, Figure Classification
• October  8 Iowa (ITBS)- Reading
• October 9 Iowa (ITBS)- Math

Author Visit- September 25, 2026

Save the Date! On Friday, September 25, national author David Biedrzycki is coming to Tigerville. Students in grades 2-5 will have a chance to hear directly from the author to learn about the creative processes to write, illustrate,and publish a book.
Several of his books will be available for purchase and will be signed by the author, but only if you preorder the books! Printed preorder forms will be coming home with students. To order books, please return your preorder form with payment by September 11, 2026. As stated on the preorder form, if no name is listed, the author will only sign the book. Cash and checks are accepted. Make checks payable to David Biedrzycki.
