Dr. Don Jones, Principal
Dr. Jones brings extensive experience in instructional leadership, school improvement, and student support to his new role as Principal of Beck Academy. Dr. Jones began his career as a special education teacher, working with students facing emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges in both co-taught and self-contained settings. Before coming to Greenville, Dr. Jones served as principal of Algonquin Middle School in Illinois, where he led significant gains in student achievement and school climate. Under his leadership, the school improved its state designation from targeted to commendable, increased reading and math performance by more than 10 percent over three years, and reduced student referrals by nearly 50 percent. Dr. Jones also served as principal of George Washington Middle School, as well as an assistant principal and special education administrator.
Dr. Jones has prioritized inclusive practices, reducing student infractions, increased student attendance and strengthened systems of support to ensure all students can succeed. Dr. Jones holds a B.A. in Educational Studies from Monmouth College, an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Aurora University, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.
