2026 Senior Checkout Information

SENIORS!  The sooner your complete senior checkout, the sooner you will be able to get your graduation tickets.

May 11th &12th -
Seniors may return Chromebooks and Chargers to the Media Center after exams are completed

May 13th -
Seniors will report to 1st block class and wait to be called to the Main Gym for senior check-in to check in all materials and pay fines/fees. Seniors with transportation will be dismissed from the Main Gym. Any Senior without transportation will follow their regular schedule.

May 15th -
Remaining Seniors check-in after graduation practice. Only after check-in is complete will seniors be eligible for tickets.


Spring 2026 Student Exams

SHS student exams- The dates are May 4-20 IB Exams (May 8 US History EOC for IBUSH), May 5 English 2 Writing EOC, May 7 English 2 Reading EOC, May 11 Senior Exams 2nd & 4th block, May 12 Algebra 1 EOC, May 12 senior exmas 1st & 3rd block, May 13 US History EOC, May 14 Biology EOC, May 18th Underclass exams 2nd & 4th block, May 19 Underclass exams 1st & 3rd exams. Please have your school issued chromebook for all exams charged.

***Makeup Exams for Seniors are May 13 and May 14. Underclassmen makeup exams are May 20 and 22.


Summer School 2026

Students and Families,

Southside High School will be hosting Summer School Monday-Thursday, beginning June 1st and ending June 25th. We will have teachers who will be in the Media Center from 9:00am-1:30pm, beginning June 1st and concluding June 25th. These teachers will be providing face-to-face instructional support and guidance as you work through your summer courses. We will also provide breakfast and lunch each day.

Attention All Students–Seat Time Saturdays

These seat time hours will be especially helpful if you need to remove an “FA” from your transcript. Any student who wishes to participate must pay IN ADVANCE by Friday 2 p.m.  

The cost for seat time is $5 per hour. If we do not have at least 10 participants, the cancellation announcement will be made and refunds will be issued. Make up your 1st semester seat before March or the FA will become permanent.

Upward Bound Program at Greenville Technical College

Upward Bound is a federally funded pre-college academic enrichment program for first-generation scholars in 9th through 12th grade.  The Upward Bound program at Greenville Technical College is looking for scholars in the 9th and 10th grades who love to participate in exciting cultural activities, once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunities, and informative college visits that are FREE.  Upward Bound Scholars get PAID to participate in enriching academic instruction, challenging ACT/SAT preparation, and instructive guidance on applying to and paying for college.

Academic Overtime/After-School Tutoring

We are pleased to announce Southside High School will offer after-school tutoring (Academic Overtime) for students. This is an opportunity for students to receive additional one-on-one assistance in any class they may need extra help.  

The tutoring sessions will be held each school day on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Tutoring will not take place on holidays or days when school is closed or there has been an early-release.

Transportation is NOT provided. You will need to make a plan with your family.

Be aware that your student debt WILL NOT APPEAR when you log in to MySchoolBucks--you will have to manually add fees you owe to the 'cart" using the correct category under the "DEBT" section (Science fee, ID, lost book, etc.). 

Call the media center for what debt your student owes.
