Dr. Lawrence Roberts
(center) at the International science fair. |
Students at Southside have many opportunities
to conduct high quality student research both as a part of classes and on an
individual basis. Southside takes a systematic approach in which teachers
not only mentor and encourage students but also help them enter contests and
publicize their results in ways which build powerful college resumes.
- REGIONAL SCIENCE
FAIR
- Science Fairs are outstanding
opportunities for students to expand their scientific horizons.
Southsiders have won many awards as shown below. Some students have made
it all the way to the International Science Fair where they have had the
rare opportunity to talk to Nobel Prize winning scientists, astronauts,
and internet founders as well as the CEOs of high tech companies such as
Intel.
-
- Science Fair projects are not generally
required at Southside but are open to anyone who is interested.
