Prom Form Information

Student Debt notices will be given out during Advisory on Tuesday, April 30th.  As you may be aware, students going to prom must pay off all school debt and get their prom forms signed by Mrs. Stephenson, Ms. Byrd, or Mrs. Davis.  Please bring exact change or a check to the media center before school, in between classes, or during lunch.  Students may also do this during Advisory on Tuesdays April 30th, May 7th, May 9th and May 14 .  An announcement will be made during those times for students with their prom forms and exact change/checks to go to the cafeteria.  Remember that overdue book charges increase for every day the book is late.

Tiger Tennis Team

The Tiger Tennis team finished out the regular season with a 5-1 loss to Travelers Rest and a 5-0 win over Berea on a beautiful Tuesday evening.  Senior Jacob Messer was the lone victor in the Travelers Rest match, battling back from a slow start to win in the third set tiebreaker.  Senior Carl Davenport also had a great match against Travelers Rest, eventually losing a tight third set tiebreaker.

The Tigers finished the regular season 8-4 and a third seed in the playoffs.  They will travel to Wren High School on Thursday for a first round playoff match.

Student Course Request
2019-2020 student course request letters have been mailed home.  Students also received a copy on Tuesday, April 23rd during advisory.   Parents and students should review the requests and make any changes directly on the form by writing in or striking out courses where needed.  Parents and students must sign and return a copy with any changes to the student's counselor by Tuesday, April 30th.   

Attention AP Students
AP students need to turn in their permission slips to Mr. Perkin or their AP teacher by Friday, April 26. If you did not receive a permission slip, check with your AP teacher for one. 

BRHS Book Club
BRHS book club will meet on Thursday, April 25th, during iTime.

FBLA Blood Drive

FBLA will be hosting the final blood drive of this year on Monday, April 29 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm in the media center.  You can sign up in the media center or at the link on the school webpage.  Donors must be 16 years old (with parent permission) and weigh at least 100 points.  All donors will receive a $10 Chic-fil-a gift card!  Give the give of life!  


2019 PTSA Scholarship Essay Contest

Applications are available in the Student Information Center. 

The winning Blue Ridge High graduating senior will be awarded $1,000.00 scholarship, paid directly to his/her college or university.  The deadline for submission is Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 4:00 pm.  Entries must be turned in to Mrs. Stokes in the Guidance Department.

You are invited to apply to participate in Harvest Hope's Youth Ambassador Program. They are accepting Youth Ambassador applications now.  APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, MAY 10th 2019.  Check your school email for additional details.

Greenville Tech Dual Credit Courses
Students planning to take Greenville Tech Dual Credit Courses next year should attend the Parent Night with their parents on Monday, April 29th at 6 pm in the Media Center.  Students and Parents will learn about the college classes, parent’s role in the process, fees associated with the classes and how to sign up using the newer online application.  A representative will also be available for any questions and concerns. 

Congratulations Boys Golf Team!!
Congratulations to our boys' golf team for winning the Greenville County Tournament on Monday.  The team shot a score of 293 to become County Champions.


1. The Prom dress code is on pages 22 and 23 of the student handbook.

2. No two-piece dresses are allowed. Students must also make their guests aware of the dress code.  BRHS students and guests will sign a section on the Prom permission form stating that they are aware of the dress code and that the consequence of not being able to enter or remain at Prom will be enforced.

Rising 11th and 12th graders:

Are you going to a two- or four-year school after graduating from BRHS?  Get ahead of your peers by getting college credits while attending The Ridge.  We offer English 101, English 102, Psychology, Sociology, Music Appreciation, and Art History.  See your guidance counselor ASAP if you would like to sign up for one of these classes but haven't done so, yet.
