General Policies
Agenda Books
All students receive agenda books, which are very important for day-to-
day success. Students should have these books at school every day for
assignments and communications with parents. (If a student loses an
agenda book, we will replace it for a nominal fee.)
The administration reserves the right to make any and all
decisions
concerning what may be considered inappropriate attire and/or
makeup. Students who dress improperly will be sent home to change.
Hall Passes
A student must have a hall pass signed in his or
her agenda any time
a student is in the hall for any reason except during the change of
classes, going to and from lunch, and going home after school.
Health Room
A Health Room is provided for students who get sick
or injured at
school. A health clinic card will be sent home for parents to note any
special health problems and information concerning who to contact in
case of an emergency.
A locked cabinet is used to store medicine to be taken at school.
All prescription medication must be brought to school by an adult.
Students are not allowed to have any prescription medication in their
possession. All medication must be in the original container, clearly
labeled with the student's name, name of medication, amount to be
given, and the time to be given. No medication will be given without
written permission from a parent.
Lockers
At the beginning of the school year, every student is assigned a
locker
and a lock with combination. Students are responsible for the locker
assigned to them. Since lockers are school property, the school
retains the right to inspect lockers from time to time to prevent abuse.
Inappropriate materials will be removed from any locker. A replacement
fee of $3.50 must be paid for a missing or damaged lock. No student
should ever leave personal items in an unlocked locker. Students must
use school-issued locks only.
Since there is a locker for every student, there is no reason for
students to use rolling backpacks. These create a hazard to other
students in the hallways.
Lost and Found
Many articles of clothing, pieces of jewelry, and personal
belongings
are turned in to the office each year. If the student's name is on the
article, it is returned to the owner. Students should check with the
office for lost articles. Items of value (radios, etc.) should not be
brought to school.
Lunch Money
Lunch tickets may be bought every Monday from 7:30 to 8:45 am in
the
cafeteria. Other days tickets are sold from 7:30 to 9:00 am. Students
may purchase a ticket for days, weeks, and even months in advance.
We encourage students to buy tickets as far in advance as possible.
Free and reduced ticket holders will be notified about their procedures.
Students paying daily pay the cashier. Regular lunches are $1.25, and
reduced-price lunches are $.40. A hot lunch will be served daily.
The lunchroom or office will not lend lunch money.
