- Hillcrest Middle School students compete in the National
Knowledge Master Open, Math Counts, Hoops for Heart,
Greenville
County Choral Clinic, Scholastic
Art Awards, Band Solo and
Ensemble Festival, and several other band and strings
competitions.
- At our Awards Ceremony this May, awards will be given
to
outstanding students in approximately 100 categories.
- The State of South Carolina recognizes as South Carolina
Junior
Scholars eighth graders who score exceptionally well on the PSAT.
Eighth graders must meet the qualifications set by the State in order
to take the PSAT. We had 56 eighth graders who qualified to take
the PSAT last year; 25 were Junior Scholars.
- Students who achieve outstanding scores on the SAT-8
achievement
test may take the SAT as part of the Duke University
TIP program.
49 students were recognized in 1999 as having achieved outstanding
scores on the SAT.
