Kona Ice
The Kona Ice truck will visit Gateway on October 9 and 23. The cost is $2.00.

Many Thanks
newbooksMrs. Jackson and the students of Gateway would like to extend a big thank-you to the family and friends of former Gateway teacher Colleen Stewart, who donated the funds to purchase a large number of new books for our library in Mrs. Stewart's memory. The addition to our collection includes over 50 high-quality books, some of which were Mrs. Stewart's favorites.

Six for Sticks Reading Challenge
The deadline for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits Six for Sticks Reading Challenge is approaching! To participate in the challenge, students must read six grade-level books between Labor Day and Columbus Day (October 12). The reading log for this challenge, which was sent home with students during the week of Labor Day, must be turned in no later than October 16. Students who complete the challenge will receive a buy one, get one ticket voucher for the game on the evening of Saturday, November 14. 

Red Ribbon Week
This year's daily themes for Red Ribbon Week will be:

  • Monday, October 26: The Best Me is Drug Free! Wear all red.  
  • Tuesday, October 27: Sock it to Drugs and Give them the Boot! Wear crazy socks and/or boots. 
  • Wednesday, October 28: My Future is Bright Without Drugs! Wear neon colors. 
  • Thursday, October 29: Hide Out From Drugs! Wear camouflage. 
  • Friday, October 30: Team Up Against Drugs! Wear your favorite team colors. This is also Hat Day for $1!
