Hello my name is Wallace Cobbs and I am glad to serve as the assistant principal of Welcome Elementary School. I am a Greenville native that graduated from Mauldin High School. After high school I attended and graduated from Clemson University (Go Tigers) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. There I was a member of the Call Me MISTER Program which seeks to recruit and prepare males to teach in public schools. I began my career as a second grade teacher at Cherrydale Elementary for two years before moving to Pendleton Elementary in Pendleton, SC as fifth grade teacher for three years. While there I earned my Masters Degree in Education Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University. In 2016, I was offered an opportunity to become an assistant principal in Anderson School District 5, which I served for three years before returning to Greenville County Schools.
In my spare time I enjoy physical fitness, reading, having a cup of coffee, and listening to music. I believe building positive relationships are at the center of educational success. I am passionate about life and education, especially our present and future generations. I am very excited for this opportunity to serve the Welcome Elementary community and looking forward to assisting each of you to the best of my abilities.
