Special Arts Events
Stone Mural- 5th graders plan, coordinate, and produce a mural in the North Main community.
Artists-in-Residence- Each year grade levels get an artist-in-residence to work with students during one class period a day for a week. Each related art is represented in one of these residencies.
The Big Show - Every year, first through fifth graders perform a major musical, written by the related arts team, and based on the school's annual theme. A core cast of 4th and 5th graders (the Play Production Cast) are supported by performances from Stone Strings, Stone Singers,grade level singers, and the Stone Dance Ensemble.
Arts Alive - Arts Alive is a PTA annual event. This spring festival is a chance for students, parents, teachers, and community members to interact and enjoy outdoor activities with an arts theme.
Winter Showcase - This annual event features the Play Production, Stone Singers and Stone Dance Ensemble. Enjoy high quality performances of holiday and other tunes with drama pieces.
Carols and Cookies - The Stone Strings students show off their holiday repertoire for parents and other students. After the show, performers and their invited guest enjoy a cookie treat.
Author Visits - Stone has had several children's book authors and illustrators visit and present to students.
The Arty Dance Party - Come groove with "The Dance Machine" in the gym, to all your favorite tunes. This event is sponsored by the PTA.
Student Art Show - Art teacher, Mr. Benjamin, puts on a school-wide student art show as a fund-raising activity. This event highlights student work from throughout the year.
Spring Strings Concert- This string concert features performances by string students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.
