Fourth grade students enjoyed Oregon Trail day which is a culmination of a Social Studies unit on the westward expansion of the United States. Students were assigned roles and "experienced" the hardships that went along with the long road in a wagon train. They ate authentic "grub," played games of the era, constructed related crafts, and square danced. It was a well-planned day of learning that was fun, too!
