Reflections State Level Winners

 Urban Forestry Contest

Third grade students recently learned about Arbor Day and participated in an Urban Forestry Program Contest sponsored by the Greenville Council of Garden Clubs. Congratulations to Annalise Langston who earned a 2nd place for her poem and Andrea Griffith who earned an Honorable Mention for her poster. They were honored at a reception held at the Kilgore-Lewis House.

 Greenville County Science Fair Winner

Congratulations are in order for Maurena Supra who won the grand prize at the Elementary Division for the Greenville County Schools annual Science Fair. She also earned first place in the Grade 5 Project Competition, the Gold award for Grade 5 Individual Oral and Project Competition and Fourth place for the Grade 5 Oral Competition.

Reedy River Run

Congratulations to all who participated in the Reedy River Run in March. Several students participated in the Great Youth Mile, while others chose the 5 and 10K run Saturday morning.

Congratulations to the following students who had amazing runs:
Elle Bissinger-2nd overall for all the girls with a time of 7:08.
Ellie Pestrak- 1st in her age group with a run time of 7:31. Caroline Tally- 2nd in the same age group with a time of 7:32. Michael Pestrak- 2nd in his age group with a run time of 7:01. John Pestrak-our fastest Oakview runner at the mile with a time of 6:59.
Bryn Bissinger-1st in age group and 3rd among all female runners with a time of 21:59 at the 5K race.

Readers Spur Readers 

Third graders in Ms. Angelo's class congratulated first graders in Ms. Szymanska's class on a job well done. Both were high achievers in the school's fall Reading Counts contest. The first graders were less than 300 points behind the third graders. Ms. Angelo's class presented the first grade class with a card encouraging them to continue to read. Congratulations to all of our Reading Counts contest winners. Almost 6,000 points were earned in one month and over 30
