Team Winners 4th grade - 1st Place - Mrs. Laye's Class 3rd Grade Individual Winner 4th Grade Individual Awards Honorable Mention: Nico Ludkowski 5th Grade Individual Awards 2nd Place - Anagha Tirumalai GRAND PRIZE WINNER went to Anagha Tirumalai. She will be entered in the State Science fair. |

Spelling Bee Finals |

Samuel Stein (4th), represented Oakview during the Upstate SC Spelling Bee in February where he advanced to the top 25 in the 3rd-5th grade category. He was 1st runner-up in the finals. The Reedy River Youth Mile Run took place in downtown Greenville. There were 11 identified Oakview runners and 373 total runners ranging in ages from 5 to 14. Click here to see a list of other Oakview runners. |
Popsicle Bridge Competition |

Congratulations to the P.O.D.S. Bridge Company who won first place in Best Craftsmanship! The team included Jacob Chittum, Liam Davis, Maddie Rogers, and Erin Makosiej. | |
Upstate Spelling Bee |
|
Caleb Ashley (5th) and Samuel Stein (4th), represented Oakview during the Upstate SC Spelling Bee in February. They were among 50 students who completed for a spot in the semi-finals. They both advanced to the top 25 in the 3rd-5th grade category. Samuel advanced to the finals which will be held on Saturday, March 15th at the University Center in Greenville. |

Fourth grader, Jonah Tervo, was recently recognized in an Emry's Haiku publication. His poem, shared below, earned an honorable mention. Based in Upstate South Carolina and founded in 1983, Emrys has sponsored music competitions, concerts, art exhibitions, conferences, creative writing awards, poetry workshops, and lectures. |
