Wednesday, October 3rd

Blythe Academy of Languages supports Healthy Students/Staff.  The 1st Wednesday of every month, we have "walk & wheel" to school.  Members of our PTA stand outside on the track to give parents, staff and students (k4-5th grade) a sticker or other 'reward' for living healthy.

East North Street Academy - Every child(4K - 5th grade) at ENSA will participate, as they walk during their related arts time( 30 - 45 minute intervals) on the Greenville Middle track.  Walking will begin at 8:15 and end at 1:30. 

Fountain Inn Elementary will host a walk to school event. Students will depart from the Fountain Inn Library or from the park downtown. Students need to be in place by 7:30 in order to participate. Parents are welcome to walk with their children.

Greenville Middle Academy will be participating in the International Walk to School Day on October 4.  Students will be meeting at a local church at 7:40 a.m. approximately 1/2 mile from campus.  At 8:00, students, administration, staff, and PTA volunteers will be walking to campus scheduled for arrival at 8:10 a.m.

Monarch Elementary students, teachers and staff will participate in a walk at school event.  The event will be held at 8:05 am.  Why do we walk?  Because it’s fun, it makes our heart stronger, it keeps us healthy and gets oxygen to our brain.  Join the fun and get healthy together.  Students will exit doors and circle the building, led by our PE teachers Mrs. Bowman and Mrs. Tucker.  Classes will follow as we all walk around the Monarch campus.

Paris Elementary will celebrate International Walk to School Day.  We invite all students, parents, and teachers to join us on the track from 7:15-7:45 a.m.  So far over 2,900 schools have registered to participate in this event, with 49 states represented.  We want to get involved and do our part to promote safe walking and fitness.  We look forward to seeing you on the track on October 4 at 7:15 a.m.

Pelham Road Elementary School will be partnering with Eastside High School's mascot and cheerleaders to celebrate our annual "Walk to School Day" on Wednesday, October 4th.  Students will meet at the Foxcroft Clubhouse at 7:15 am and leave to walk or bike their way to Pelham Road at 7:30 am.  This event, in conjunction with Safe Routes to School, promotes pedestrian safety awareness to motorists and the surrounding community. 

Plain Elementary School is participating for the International Walk to School Day. This is an event for the whole school from grades K-5. The students will be learning about pedestrian safety. The related arts teachers chair this committee. In music the children will sing a song about pedestrian safety, in art the students made signs that the students will hold while walking, and in physical education they will be walking at school. To commemorate this event each child will be given a prize for participating in this walk. We are holding this walk on Tuesday, October 3rd from 8:20 am until 2:00 pm.

Riverside Middle School - We will have our walk during 1st,2nd, and 3rd period.  

Simpsonville Elementary will have Walk “at” School Day on Wednesday, October 4 from 7:15- 7:45.  There will be fruit and wrist bands available for students as long as supplies last.    ALL students must be accompanied by an adult.   The Mayor of Simpsonville and other county officials will be in attendance.  

Sterling School:  Our event at Sterling will include Greenville City police officers, JL Mann football players and cheerleaders. Join us for International Walk to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 4th.  We will depart from the  playground/gazebo area at Heritage Apartments at 7:15 a.m (behind the school).  Our Sterling School band will lead us in our walk to school.  Greenville City police officers along with JL Mann football players and cheerleaders will also join us. 

Stone Academy will kick off its walk to school the Furman Pep Band in Croft Park at 7:30am for a quick Walk-to-School celebration!  Parents of magnet students who do not live in the neighborhood and typically ride the bus are encouraged to drive them to school and allow them to walk a few blocks and participate in the event with their classmates.

Summit Drive Elementary will have a Walk to School Day Wednesday October 4th from 7am to 8am.  Everyone will meet at Northgate Baptist Church 633 Summit Drive Greenville.

Westcliffe Elementary will be holding a "walk at school" event on Friday October 6th. Students will have a short safety assembly followed by a walk around the school property. The Berea Fire department will be coming out to interact with students and show their support for pedestrian safety. Parents/guardians are invited to attend and walk with their child.
